Founded on Telegraph Avenue in 1990 by former Rasputin Records employees, as a successor to the culture of tape trading and buying imported records that launched Bay Area Thrash Metal. Metallica played a surprise show here on Record Store Day 2016. Green Day, Primus, and all the big Bay Area names have passed through here as customers, employees, or artists. The first and original of the three Amoeba stores.
