Afflecks Palace Tiles

The Story

Afflecks Palace, founded in 1982 as a pioneering alternative shopping space, features exterior tile murals created by artist Mark Kennedy in homage to Manchester's music and culture icons. One of them reproduces the cover of Unknown Pleasures, created by Peter Saville in 1979. As the original artwork has no physical location, these tiles are the closest thing to visiting the cover.
