The Story
The Elgin is a corner pub in Notting Hill, opened in 1856 and rebuilt in 1868, with a carved wooden interior, etched glass, and gilded panels. In 1985, photographer Just Loomis spent a few days in London photographing A-ha for the cover of the classic Hunting High and Low. The black and white photo of the band was taken inside here. Joe Strummer of The Clash was a regular at The Elgin. The pub is still active at the same address.
