Tresor Berlin

Techno

1991

The Story

Opened in March 1991 in the vaults of an old department store near Potsdamer Platz, the club invented the sound of Berlin techno in the months following the fall of the Wall. The Tresor was one of the first venues to bring Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills, and Underground Resistance from Detroit to Europe. Closed in 2005, it reopened in 2007 in the former Kraftwerk power plant, right next door. Still active.
