The Story

When Metallica invited Cliff Burton to join the band, he accepted with one condition: the band would have to move from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. The house in El Cerrito was where Metallica moved in February 1983, living there until 1986. *Ride the Lightning* and *Master of Puppets* were made in this house. In 2016, as part of Record Store Day, the band visited the house 30 years after leaving it. Private residence.
