When Metallica invited Cliff Burton to join the band, he accepted on one condition: the band would have to move from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. The house in El Cerrito was where Metallica moved in February 1983. *Ride the Lightning* and *Master of Puppets* were created in this house. In 2016, as part of Record Store Day, the band visited the house 30 years later. Private residence.
