The Story

Larrabee was originally founded in the 1960s as a humble West Hollywood space by singer-songwriter Carole King and her husband, Gerry Goffin, to record their own compositions. In 1991, Larrabee acquired a studio space in North Hollywood, located at 4162 Lankershim Boulevard. Larrabee built a reputation as a major recording hub on the West Coast, hosting legendary artists such as Cher, Janet Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, and George Clinton. It was one of Michael Jackson's favorite studios during his most productive phase, including the recording of Dangerous. Madonna also recorded here.
