Clive Burr, Iron Maiden
2013
Clive Burr was born on March 8, 1956, in East Ham, London, and joined Iron Maiden in 1979, playing drums on the band's first three albums, Iron Maiden, Killers, and The Number of the Beast. He left the band in 1982 but left his mark immortalized in creative drumming, such as in the intro to Run to the Hills. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, he spent his final years in a wheelchair but became the patron of a series of benefit concerts named Clive Aid to raise funds for research into the disease. He passed away on March 12, 2013, at the age of 57. In 2026, he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Iron Maiden. He is buried at number 1037.
