The Story

After John Lennon's tragic death in 1980, New York City dedicated an area in Central Park, directly across from his home (The Dakota), in his honor. Officially opened in 1985, the tranquil, tree-lined area features the iconic black and white "Imagine" mosaic, donated by artisans from Naples.
