Loja de Disco
1970
This is the oldest record store still in operation in Brasília. Laurindo Modesto Pereira began buying and reselling records on the street in the late 1960s, opened a small store in Núcleo Bandeirante, then on W3 Sul, and over the years had seven different locations across the Federal District, including three simultaneous stores in Conjunto Nacional alone between the 70s and 80s. Its golden age lasted until the late 90s. Today, Laurindo manages the store in Taguatinga with the help of his wife, Cassiele Pereira. The facade has never changed: it still reads "Discos, Fitas e Gravadores" (Records, Tapes, and Recorders), products the store no longer even sells, because Laurindo likes to remember how things were back then. It sells CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and musical instruments at affordable prices.
